WordMap: A Constructionist Pedagogical Agent that Supports ESL Learners Vocabulary Learning

Vocabulary has always been establishing itself at the core of English language learning. This design project intends to design a constructionist pedagogical agent named WordMap to tackle the need in ESL language learners’ vocabulary acquisition of meaningful construction of connections among words. The main target audience of this project is college-level learners of English in China. The learning context of the design can be both a formal and informal setting. Language teachers can use the software in the classroom as teaching tools. Learners can also use the tool after class by themselves or with peers.
